Businesses!
I’m reaching out to share an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in our community and support individuals affected by severe Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (M.E.).
On 8th August 2024, we will be hosting our first annual “BED for Severe M.E.” Day. This initiative aims to raise awareness about severe M.E., 25% of those living with M.E. are severely affected.
Why BED?
For someone with severe M.E., BED is their whole world because they often need to spend most, if not all, of their time lying down. M.E. causes Post-Exertional Malaise (or Post-Exertional Neuro-Exhaustion), pain, and sensitivity to light and sound amongst many other symptoms, making it very difficult to do everyday activities. BED can become a sanctuary. To participate, we invite all staff members to donate a small contribution and wear pyjamas to work.
Why Participate?
- Community Impact: Your involvement directly supports those living with severe M.E., raising vital funds for research, support services, and advocacy efforts.
- Employee Engagement: Promote team spirit and boost morale by participating in a fun and meaningful cause together.
- Corporate Social Responsibility: Showcase your commitment to social responsibility and community involvement.
How You Can Help:
- Donate: Encourage staff members to contribute to our fundraising efforts. Every donation, big or small, makes a difference.
- Spread the Word: Share the event within your departments and across your networks. The more participants, the greater our impact!
- Get Creative: Show your support by wearing your cosiest pyjamas to work on 8th August 2024. Let’s turn your workplace into a sea of comfort in solidarity with those battling severe M.E.
